financial Aid policy & faq's

Bend FC believes that everyone should have the opportunity to play the beautiful game of soccer! We understand finances can present barriers and we are committed to doing what we can to help players have the opportunity to participate in our competitive year long programs for those with demonstrated need. To be considered for financial aid, please complete the application available in the PlayMetrics app. The minimum required documentation consists of your most recently filed tax return and 2 recent paystubs. We may ask for additional information in some cases. Financial aid award amounts are based on Federal & Oregon Income Guidelines. Families with more than one player only need to submit one application, but be sure to identify all players at the club. 


Please note that the majority of financial aid is awarded to players who tryout and/or sign up in May for our year-long competitive teams and full-year Junior Development Academy program. Financial assistance may be available for players who join mid-year, depending on availability. If available, the scholarship application will be accessible during the registration process. Currently, scholarships for the 2024-2025 soccer year have been awarded in full. Please check back for updates as we will be fundraising for Giving Tuesday in November to replenish the Scholarship Fund.


For u11-u19 Competitive Academy teams, please register for our Team Selection Process. Tryouts for the 2025-2026 season are the week of May 12-16. Junior Development Academy aged players, born in 2016-2019 can register here for the 2025-2026 program starting on April 1st, 2025. How much aid is available and am I guaranteed a scholarship?

Bend FC budgets a set amount of financial aid each year, so not everyone applying will automatically receive it. We also fundraise for our scholarship program throughout the year and that may serve to increase or replenish the amount available.

What does financial aid cover?

Financial aid covers a portion of a player's annual player fees depending on the award. Financial Aid does not cover required uniforms, shin guards, cleats, balls, or any other necessary soccer gear. Financial Aid also does not cover player travel costs to games and tournaments.

What criteria are used to award financial aid?

Bend FC no longer uses free or reduced school lunch as the primary determining factor in granting financial aid as this program was disrupted during COVID. Instead, we follow the Federal & Oregon Expanded Income Guidelines annual income levels and apply our awards (25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%) based on those defined income levels.

When will I know if I qualify for financial aid?

Families will be notified by email of aid reward or denial and the amount of award based as quickly as possible after the application has been submitted. If awarded aid, the letter will include an agreement outlining the amount granted and payment options.


If I have more than one

player in my family, do I need to complete a financial aid application for each one?


No, but be sure to add each Bend FC player to the application so your need is fully understood by the committee.


Do I need to complete a financial aid form every year?


Yes, Bend FC requires each family to complete a new application each year.
