Got a question about the Junior Development Academy? We should have an answer!
Beginning in 2023, we've discounted league fees and won't provide uniforms. All players must order their uniform kits directly from the vendor. You should receive an email explaining the uniform process. IMPORTANT: Uniform numbers are preassigned by COSL and are linked directly to how we're identifying you in our system. You must order your pre-assigned number to avoid duplicates.
Participants are responsible for uniform ordering and subsequent costs and shipping.
When ordering your kit, you must order two jerseys: one white and one black (for males), and one red and one gray (for females). Uniforms are used for two season, and you can order replacement gear as needed.
Games will be played at one of three locations:
We've got more than 120 teams to schedule, and often coaches covering multiple teams, so please bear with us as we address and accommodate all scheduling considerations. We'll get games scheduled as quickly as we can
after we finalize teams.
Games are always on weekends. You'll play most games on Saturdays although we do sometimes have to schedules games on Sundays.
Check out the
COSL rules here.
Each player must have two jerseys: one for home games, and one for away games, as follows:
It's important to note that a team having the same uniform:
The cost for the Central Oregon Soccer League is $120.00 per player. Fees include:
Additionally, uniforms cost approximately $40 plus shipping. Again, your COSL fees
do not include uniforms kits. This is a new policy as of 2023. Your
uniform kit is designed to last for two COSL seasons. You'll receive an email after you register that details how to order uniforms.
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of seven games during a season and two practices a week, although pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teams will have only one practice or game per week.
Practice times and days are determined by the coach and are based on field availability. Practices may not be at your neighborhood school. However, we'll work closely with the Bend-LaPine School District to provide field options at local schools. But it's important to remember that other sports also are vying for field time, such as baseball and softball.
The goal is to form teams based on grade and school. We'll definitely consider coach and friend requests during the first registration period of a season. However, during the second registration period, players will only be able to register for specific teams that have roster spots available. All teams will have a maximum number of players with no exceptions.
Practices, held at Bend FC Soccer Complex @ Pine Nursery Park, are as follows:
The JDA players participate in the Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) U10 Valley League. Games are played on a size-appropriate field with seven players per side (including goalkeepers). Teams are created based on age, ability, and player availability before each playdate. The Valley League uses a "jamboree" style game day where teams play multiple games in one day. The league includes teams from Bend, Eugene, Salem, and Corvallis. There are 4 such playdates during the fall and again in the spring. One in Bend and three "away" destinations give players and families a taste of travel soccer without the overnight commitment.
Coaches, with the help of the Director, will form teams for each jamboree playdate based on age, skill, and player availability. Teams may change from one playdate to the next.
Uniforms must be ordered by players from Tursi Soccer. Numbers are optional and any number may be selected.
Participants are responsible for ordering their own uniform in a timely fashion.
When ordering your uniform kit, you must order two game jerseys: one white and one black (for boys), and one black and one gray (for girls) and a red training top (boys only). Uniforms are used for two seasons (2022-2024), and you can order replacement gear as needed. There will be a new 2 year uniform cycle beginning in June 2024.
The JDA program is designed to be a full year commitment. The cost, per player, is $995 and includes June 2023 through May 2024 activities. Please note, this does not include uniform kits. Players must purchase full kits. Please email the JDA director to inquire about joining throughout the year at a prorated rate as space is available.
