The COSL Coaches Corner is a place dedicated to our volunteer coaches.

The dates for the 2025 COSL Coaches Training and Equipment Pick-up have been set.

• PreK/Kinder to 2nd Grade: March 19th, class @7 pm, Bend FC Futsal Center
• 3rd to 8th Grade: March 20, class @7 pm, Bend FC Futsal Center

If you coach two teams in different age categories, you may pick whichever one works best for you, or even attend both if you would like.

Coach Questionnaires have now been sent out to get input on ideal practice locations as well as other information about you (like your t-shirt size for that awesome COSL t-shirt you get). The questionnaire was sent on January 15. If you missed the notification for that, please check your profile and look in the FORMS tab (you need to be in the Coach View, not your player view). We will not get our field assignments from Bend Parks and Rec/ Bend-LaPine Schools until early March but I will use your forms to schedule you at or near your desired locations to the best of my ability.

ARE YOU CLEAR?

All coaches are required to be cleared by our governing agency, Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) even if you were already cleared through Parks and Rec in the Fall and/or a school association.

We are all separate entities so clearance must be done for each of us.

• If you have already signed up to coach, you should have been sent a form with instructions on this process.
• If you missed the notification for this in your email, you can find the instructions in your profile under the FORMS tab.
• You will need to switch between player/coach view if you are using the same account as your player.
• If you cannot find the instructions, please email Stef at cosl@bendfc.com as soon as possible.

Once you are cleared to coach, you will be given a password to access the Current Coaches Page linked in the button below. This page is where you will have access to the master practice schedule (to be published by March 15) as well as other helpful resources for you as a Bend FC/ COSL Coach.

The role of a COSL coach is first and foremost to be a supportive leader to the youth players who are out there wanting to have fun while developing skills in the great game of soccer. In a rec program, especially for players who are out there for the first time, the experience they have this year could determine if they keep playing or not. That is a BIG responsibility and we take it seriously. Please remember that winning isn't always determined by a score.

Once registration closes, we will create teams and coaches will officially be assigned to their teams.  You will be automatically matched up with the player that you signed up with.



• Many thanks to those who have already volunteered to coach a team!
• WE STILL HAVE TEAMS WITHOUT A COACH. If you see that your team does not have a coach, please consider taking on a head coach or assistant coach position.
• You do not need to have experience to be a volunteer coach. An optional coach training will be offered by our Bend FC Staff before the start of the season.
