COSL COACHES CORNER

The COSL Coaches Corner is a place dedicated to our volunteer coaches.

The role of a COSL coach is first and foremost to be a supportive leader to the youth players who are out there wanting to have fun while developing skills in the great game of soccer. In a rec program, especially for players who are out there for the first time, the experience they have this year could determine if they keep playing or not. That is a BIG responsibility and we take it seriously. Please remember that winning isn't always determined by a score.

Once registration closes, we will create teams and coaches will officially be assigned to their teams. You will be automatically matched up with the player that you signed up with.



  • Many thanks to those who have already volunteered to coach a team!
  • You do not need to have experience to be a volunteer coach. An optional coach training will be offered by our Bend FC Staff before the start of the season.






ARE YOU CLEAR?


All coaches are required to be cleared by our governing agency, Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) even if you were already cleared through Parks and Rec in the Fall and/or a school association.

We are all separate entities so clearance must be done for each of us.



  • You will sign up to coach during your player's registration process.
  • If you do not have a player but want to coach, please create a PlayMetrics account then contact cosl@bendfc.com.
  • If you are signed up to coach, you will be sent a form with instructions on this process starting in December..
  • If you miss the notification for this in your email, you can find the instructions in your profile under the FORMS tab.
  • You will need to switch between player/coach view if you are using the same account as your player.
  • If you cannot find the instructions, please email Stef at cosl@bendfc.com as soon as possible.


Once you are cleared to coach, you will be given a password to access the Current Coaches Page linked in the button below. This page is where you will have access to the master practice schedule (to be published by March 15) as well as other helpful resources for you as a Bend FC/ COSL Coach.

Volunteer coaches can sign up during their player's registration process. If you already registered but missed signing up, please contact Stef Emerson at COSL@bendfc.com. 


All coaches will receive a COSL T-shirt and Head Coaches will get to choose their practice locations/schedules (based on availability).


Information for volunteer coaches including clearance requirements, the coach questionnaire, practice schedule preferences, and more will start being sent out in January.
